Pallet Classification

GMA (Grocery Manufacturers Association) also a Premium Pallet 48”X40” Four-way pallets that complies with GMA guidelines for the food & beverage industries, providing pallets that match the dimensions and meet a higher quality standard out line by GMA now recently rebranded as the CBA (Consumer Brand Association)This pallet you can expect 6 inch lead boards on top and bottom decks of the pallets stringers have no reinforcement or plate repairs.

Grade A standard 48″ X 40″ Pallets Four-way Entry encompasses exceptional condition with minor corrugated repair or plate; a high quality capacity pallet with minor superficial imperfections their leading boards vary between 4 inches to 6 inches on top and bottom decks of the pallet.

Grade B standard 48”X 40” wooden pallets typically show more wear and tear. It has between 5 to 7 boards on top depending on board width. Stringers are reinforced with a c stringer or stringer-based block fitting, corrugated or plate repair.

Heat Treated Pallets IPPC (International Plant Protection Convention) ISPM15 is a program developed by IPPC in response to the global threat of pests and diseases. Opal-Locka Pallets is one of the few companies that is certified to perform Heat Treat Process. Our warehouse facilitates prompt service to clients upon request without having to wait for 3rd party vendors as waiting time does play a role. This process undergoes a specialized treatment to enhance their durability and safety for global exportation. Opa-Locka Pallets does gets audited by certified inspectors to keep track of the HT process for export.

Our company is certified and is specializes in the ISPM-15 Heat Treatment Program for exportation. Our company certifies each pallet with its own identified IPPC stamp. Opa-Locka Pallets complies with the regulations in order to allow your shipment to be accepted for international shipping.

ISPM-15 Heat Treatment

Regulations to control the spread of wood and forest pests have become increasingly important in the wood trade. ISPM-15 (International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures) designates the standard required by the United Nations member countries for international shipments. The 170 governments (thus far) which have signed the IPPC (International Plant Protection Convention) have the right to refuse entry at their frontiers to goods transported on wooden pallets, in crates, spools or any other wood packaging unless it has been treated, marked and certified in accordance with its regulations. Pallet King provides a heat treatment which meets the demands of ISPM-15 and has experience in meeting all the needs of the wood packaging producer and user.

Wood packaging material should be heated in a schedule that achieves a minimum core temperature of 56 degrees Celsius for a minimum of 30 minutes. The American Lumber Standards Committee administers the U.S. certification program for heat treatment.
